Terms & Conditions

Fees, Deposits and Forfeitures:  All fees are billed immediately after the reservation is made; there is no down-payment process.  Fees are payable by cash, check, MasterCard, or Visa.  Checks should be made payable to the Lussier Family Heritage Center and returned with the signed contract.  A key/building deposit is required for all evening and weekend events.  A MasterCard or Visa number will be recorded on the contract at time of key checkout to cover this deposit.  No charges will be processed after event if the key has been returned and the building left in good condition.

Wedding Cancellation Policy - Cancellation 120 or more days from event date: 20% withheld by LFHC.  Cancellation less than 120 days, 60 or more days from event date: 50% withheld by LFHC. Cancellation less than 60 days from event date: No refund.  If you would like to make a date change to your event for any reason, you may do so and the following shall be applied: a $200 change fee if the reservation is 30 or more days out, No changes if the reservation is less than 30 days out (exceptions may be made in extenuating circumstances by the manager). 

Accessibility:  Please note that users are responsible for ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and all other applicable federal, state and local laws.

Curfew:  All events must end by 10:00 pm Sunday - Thursday. All Friday or Saturday events must conclude by 11:00 pm. Users are allowed 45 minutes for clean up after the event. A $50 fee will be added for entry into the building before 7:30 am Monday-Thursday. 

Smoking Policy: There is no smoking inside the Lussier Family Heritage Center. This extends to the deck, grounds, paved patio and front entrance. As this is an educational facility located in a Dane County Park we strive to keep smoking and its debris at a minimum. Smoking is only allowed in the service drive area on the Western, barn side of the building. Cigarettes must be properly disposed of in the outdoor ashtray. Renters will be charged for excess litter caused by improperly discarded cigarettes.

Caterers Policy:  You may contract directly with the caterer of your choice. Caterers not on our approved list must contact the Center Manager two weeks prior to your event.

Alcoholic Beverages: The consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted during scheduled events. An alcohol permit will be issued through the contracting process and will be added to the rental fee. Complimentary alcohol may be given to your guests, however no sales of alcohol are allowed on the premises or grounds. A licensed bartender is not required, but strongly recommended.

Storage:  In general, storage of any equipment or other accessory items belonging to quests beyond the rental-reserved time is not permitted.

Decorating:  The use of nails, screws, tape, tacks or the like to fasten decorations or other materials to walls, doors or from the ceiling is strictly prohibited. The use of glitter, confetti, smoke/fog machines is not allowed.

Candles: Candles are allowed only in safe and proper candle holders. All flames must be enclosed in a glass covering. 

Cleaning and Departure: Renter is responsible for the removal of their tablecloths, decorations, personal belongings, equipment etc. prior to the end of the rental period. We request large spills be mopped up to avoid damage to the floors. Recyclables and trash should be placed in the proper receptacles. If necessary, excess waste should be placed in additional garbage bags and set in the lobby. Any damages to the building, furniture or grounds, as well as extra cleaning required will be charged to the renter.

Outside Contractors and Rental Items: Services by outside contractors (cakes, flowers, bands, DJs, etc.) are subject to approval by the Lussier Family Heritage Center and may be allowed subject to scheduling conflicts with other events. We cannot accept responsibility for any products or services by outside vendors, but will happily work with them to make your event flawless. You will be responsible for submitting a list of contractors for approval 2 weeks in advance of function.

Dogs: Service dogs welcome, no pets allowed in building. Dogs allowed on-leash on the center grounds with the purchase of a Dane County Parks dog permit.
